Happy Canada Day!!!!......Tomorrow!!!

What more could a crafty girl ask for on a long weekend than a scrappy day with some amazing friends and gorgeous weather!!!  I have been blessed to find a very special person who loves to scrap as much as I do, and she only lives 10 minutes away.  And now she is more than just a scrap buddy. She is one of the most caring, giving, good-hearted, feisty and beautiful friend I have ever had in my life. Her family has welcomed me and cared so much about me than sometimes I want to pinch myself, because they are to good to be true!!! THANK YOU dear Liz.......believe me when I say that I would be lost without you in my life!!!!!

On friday June 29th I not only got to spend the day scrapping with Liz but also with Nicole. another friend I have met through scrap booking over a year ago, and Kassandra whom I have recently met through scrap booking!!!  We had a great day scrapping and spending some money at our LSS. I am a very slow scrapper......sometimes it takes days for me to complete a layout. So imagine how happy I was to have completed a LO and another paper project in one sitting!!!!  I felt like I had won a gold metal or something! LOL!!!!  Being surrounded by those talented girls must have done me some good. Thank you Liz, Nicole and Kassandra for such a fun filled day I can't wait to crop with all of you again!!!

So this is the layout I completed. It is based on the Turquoise #9 MWM through Scrapbook Steals!!!  I always love their inspiring sketches created by the crazy talented Kristy Lee!!!!

This is the sketch.........

........and this is my creation!!!!!

I love the way this LO turned out. The photo is on my precious little grand daughter Miss Blake and her Daddy!!!  As you can see her little face lights up with joy and love for her Daddy!!!  Not only was she a little giggler, but this photo just makes me giggle also.

Everything except for the solid pink paper and the ribbon comes from Pebbles. I have definitely become addicted to Pebbles. Everything coordinates so well, and the embellishments are simply divine!!!!
The solid pink background paper is from MME Indie Chic collection. Another line of MME that I drool over, and want all of LOL!!!!!

The other fun product I used on this LO is one of the Lucky Eight punches. I have yet to buy one myself. But after playing with this one that belongs to a friend I know I am going to want them all!!! There is so many things you can do with just one punch.

To all of my Canadian friends have a wonderful Canada Day!!!!

Catching up on Cards!!!!!

I have gotten so behind on my card making as of late.  At one time all I did was make cards, but now that I have started using sketches, I have gotten more into layouts.
But....I have a card to share with you, and I love how it turned out!!!

I used Pebbles Happy go Lucky Collection!!!  This is such a sweet and charming collection. I love all of the little birdies, and the fun refreshing colors!!!
All I added was some green sheer ribbon!!!
With every card that I make I also always make a matching envelope using the same cardstock I used on the card. My favorite cardstock is Bazzill!  It comes in almost any color imaginable and stands up very well when used in card making!!!

Today I also had to draw another name to give away my prize from the Scrapbook Steals Blog Hop.
So my next lucky winner is Denise Bryant!!!!
Send me an email  cat_scrap_creations04@hotmail.com with your address and I will get your prize  out to you pronto!!!!!

Scrapbook Steals MWM Turquoise #7

Surprise.....I actually got a MWM done a day before the deadline!!!  This weeks sketch was one of my favorites I think!!!

this is the sketch..........

...........and this is my take on the sketch!!!

The bright colours are so fun and vibrant in this American Crafts Amy Tangerine Sketchbook Collection.  I don't usually use a lot of bright collections but this one is just so versatile.

Supplies : Patterned paper and embellishments-AC Amy Tangerine Sketch Book Collection, Cardstock-Bazzill, Brads-unknown, Large flower-Recollections, Flowers-Sassafras, Butterflies-Jenni Bowlin colored with AC Stamp markers, Crocheted border and flowers-hand made for me with DMC floss!!

Thank you once again Kristy for another punch of inspiration.  I would be lost without your weekly sketches!!!!

I hope everyone is having a fun filled Fathers Day!!!

I also wanted to mention that I have not heard from Connie Mercer so that I can get her prize off to her. If I still haven't heard from her by Monday night I will pick another name to win the Blog Hop prize.  If anyone can contact her that would be great!!!! Thanks!!!

Scrapbook Steals MWM Turquoise #6

Today I want to share with you the layout I did for Scrapbook Steals MWM Turquoise #6
This week there was a guest sketcher, the incredibly talented Julie Koets!!!  I absolutely love her work and her style. Check out her blog http://jkkoets.blogspot.com/ and you will see why I love everything she makes so much!!!!

This is her awesome sketch.....

.......and this is my take on her sketch!
As you can see I turned mine into a single page. Totally LOVED this sketch and I know I will be using it again!!! I am also in love with this new line of paper from My Mind's Eye!!!! Everything I used except the letters are from the Indie Chic Nutmeg Collection!!!! It is simply amazing!!!!

This picture is a little fuzzy but I wanted to include it because I had so much fun making these center pieces for my granddaughters birthday party!!
I cut pieces of styrofoam into circles (they weren't perfect or anything, just so they looked kind of like an island), and then I sprayed them with Glimmer Mist and Perfect Pearls Mist!!! After adding a cocktail umbrella and some little seaside shaped buttons they were perfect. They were a great help keeping the table cloths in place because it was a bit of a windy day!!!! It was fun trying out traditional 'scrapbook supplies' on something different!!!!

Thanks for stopping in for a visit!! If you have a chance tell all your friends to stop by and become a follower. When I reach 100 followers I will be giving away a fun filled box of scrappy goodness!!!!

SCRAPBOOK STEALS BLOG HOP! {& Giveaway}

Welcome to The Scrapbook Steals June Blog Hop!

I am so excited to be part of the fun and to have the chance to not only meet some brilliant and crazy talented Scrappy Sisters but, to also to work with a fun new product! I must admit that when I heard we would be working with American Crafts Glitter Tape I was terrified! I am not a glittery kind of girl! But, once I started working with it I was hooked and was out buying more colours to play with. And I will be first in line to purchase still more from Scrapbook Steals! They are the best place ever to purchase a variety of scrapbooking products.

If you have come from Miriam Pranter's Blog you are on the right track. If not, please head on over to the Scrapbook Steals Blog and start at the beginning.

7.Cathryn Hanson - That's Me!

My Projects & Giveaways

When I opened my package from Scrapbook Steals the first thing I thought was Halloween! There was black, bright green, purple, orange and a pink! So I decided to do a Halloween layout, a door sign, a candy box, and a picture frame.

Another thing that came to mind and I'm not sure why, was a Rubik's Cube! Strange I know......but the Glitter Tape was the perfect size. So I made a couple photo Rubik's Cubes, a Halloween one and an Oilers Hockey themed one.

Lastly I made a few cards using border punches with the
Glitter Tape peeking behind.
The tape is the perfect touch!

So now I am officially a "Glitter Girl"!
Thank you American Crafts & Scrapbook Steals for getting me hooked!

Thanks for playing along and visiting my blog! Remember to visit the blogs of each talented lady in the hop for your chance to win a $20 Gift Certificate to ScrapbookSteals.com. Just simply leave a comment on each of the 8 blogs no later than midnight on Sunday June 10, 2012!

As a bonus I will also be having a fun giveaway for a prize of scrappy goodness. I will randomly choose a commenter who is also a follower of my blog. So make sure you become a follower by clicking the blue "join the site" button. I will announce the winner on Monday June 11, 2012 on my blog!

Happy Hopping!!!!

ScrapbookSteals MWM Turquoise #5

It really sucks when your creative brain decides to take a vacation, but you have a million things that you have to create!!!!  That has been the way things have been going for me the past few weeks.  I must admit I have been a little preoccupied with our 2 new pets.  Zoey our golden retriever is now almost 6 months old, but still full of puppy energy.  And she still seems to want to chew everything in sight!!!  But I love her to death.  And the newest member of our family, an adorable kitten my youngest daughter Megan found and fell in love with.  He is a cross between a maine coon and a scottish fold (Taylor Swifts kitten is a scottish fold).  His name is O'Malley and he is just the cutest darn thing.  So they have both kept me busy.

OK, back to scrapbooking.  I figured the only way to get out of this slump is to just make something every day.  Monday is the deadline for Scrapbook Steals MWM, so what better place to start.  I didn't get Turquoise #4 finished, so I will have to catch up on that one before this sequence is up.  But I really wanted to get Turquoise #5 done on time.  And luckily I did with very little time to spare!!!

This is the Turquoise #5 Sketch done by the amazing MWM maker Kristy Lee!!  I loved it!!!

And this is my take on the sketch!

I totally fell in love with the Neapolitan Collection from American Crafts!!! The colours are amazing with the brown and all of the pastel colours.  And the embellishments are beautiful with so many to choose from!!!!!
Other supplies:cardstock Bazzill, letters American Crafts Thickers, Ink Color Box, trim Basic Grey, flower Sassafrass, and the crocheted flower I made myself!!!!

Thanks for stopping by. And please tell all of your scrappy friends to check out my blog and become a follower.  When I hit 100 followers I will be giving away another great prize full of scrappy goodness!!!

Thanks
