You are my SONshine!!!!

Last night I finally got around to doing Authentiques July Sketch Challenge!!! I had sat down and looked at their sketch so many times but nothing creative was rolling around in my brain!!!!  Then last night I while going through some old photos, I spotted these 3 of my son, who is now 17!!  He was such a cute sweet little guy!!!! Anyways.....I immediately thought of Authentiques Gathering Collection!!  The colors are just perfect for these photos!!!!

.......here is the July Sketch Challenge

.......and here is my take on the sketch!!

I decided not to put a border on this LO and instead concentrate on the flowers.

For the top flower on the right I cut out each little petal, inked them and then popped them up just a little. A lot of work but I love how it all turned out!
I did the same for the bottom left flower but just cut out the largest petals and did the rest as a whole flower. Not quite the same effect, but it still looks kind of cool!!!!
I always find it more difficult when doing a more masculine LO to pick the right embellishments!! With this LO I just went with some buttons sewn on with twine. Understated but just right I think!!

SUPPLIES : Cardstock-Bazzill, Patterned paper & paper embellishments-Authentique Gathering Collection, Ink-Tim Holtz Distress Gathered Twigs, Buttons & Rub on letters-Fancy Pants, Large letters-AC Thickers!!!

Sassy Miss

Today I want to share with you a layout that I made using a Sketchabilities Sketch. I love how this layout turned out.  Check out their website for some pretty amazing sketches that will give you crazy amounts of inspiration!!! Sorry I don't have a picture of the sketch but if you go to Sketchabilities it is sketch #71

For some reason I have used this color scheme on my last 3 layouts of Miss Blake!!!
I just love the greens and the pinks together. And this Collection from Cosmo Cricket, Tea for Two worked perfectly with the flowers that I wanted to use. A little inking, and it was perfect.

I inked the flowers with some Tim Holtz distress ink in Gathered Twigs, and the lace border and AC Thickers with a deep pink/red ink from ColorBox!!!

Happy Travels.....

This was a very quick project for a friend of my daughters who is off to do some traveling for a month. I wanted it to be very simple but striking!!!!
I had this Collection from We R Memory Keepers that I had never used before. The Travel Light Collection. It was perfect!!!!!
After searching for a stamp in my collection of a paper airplane with no luck I decided to attempt to draw one myself. With a little color shading I think it turned out pretty good!!!

I added some lilybee design letters and then went over them with a gel pen to give them a little more dimension!! All that was left was to add the flight line!!!!

Thanks for stopping by!!!!

Food Glorious Food!!!!!

With all of the crazy hot weather these past few weeks, and with me having so many health issues, I was very intrigued when I came across a pin in Pinterest about prepared frozen meals that cook straight from the freezer into the crockpot.  I have looked into different sites many times but never tried them out. After reading the very positive comments, and enthusiastic thumbs up for the recipes on melissafallstestkitchen.blogspot.ca.......I figured it was time to try them out.
After about 6 hours of washing and chopping and measuring, I had 2 bags each of the following recipes!!!!

Savory Vegetable Beef Soup
Teriyaki Chicken
Balsamic and Onion Pot Roast
Healthy BBQ Chicken
&
Stephanies Goulash

Each bag is suppose to make 2-4 serving, but I adjusted mine a little by adding an extra piece of chicken, or beef so I could get by using 1 bag if it was just the 4 to 5 of us for dinner.

Last night we tried out the Balsamic and Onion Pot Roast, and LOVED it!!! It was a tinge more tangy than we were use to because of the Balsamic vinegar......but it was simply delishe!!!!

As we try more of the recipes I will let you know what everyone thought and if it was a hit or not in our home.

Teriyaki Chicken

Healthy BBQ Chicken

These are the only 2 I took pictures before I froze them.

And this is a picture Of the Balsamic and Onion Pot Roast all plated and ready to eat!!!!
SOOOOO YUMMY!!!!

MWM Pearl #1

Well after a few days in the hospital and some donated blood I am finally starting to feel a little better. The weather here has been incredibly hot and humid most days for the past few weeks so it seems to drain my creative energy very quickly. Not good.  I was so upset that I didn't get all of my Turquoise MWM finished but hopefully I won't fall behind with the Pearl MWM.

And after seeing the amazing sketch that the Guest Designer Erin Schultz did for the first Pearl MWM for Scrapbook Steals, I knew I could get that one done on time!!!
THANK YOU Erin! Your creations are always so inspiring!!!

Birthday Fun!!!!

I have been very busy this weekend scrap booking with friends, and trying out some fun Birthday ideas with some charming and delightful Pebbles products.  My Grand daughters birthday is coming up this summer and I love making things to add to the birthday fun. When I spotted this Pebbles collection 'Happy Go Lucky' I immediately loved the colors and the whimsical little birdies and flowers. I have decorated little bird houses in the past and knew this collection would make the perfect little birdhouse treat holders. I filled them with colorful jellybeans.  Then a few weeks ago I spotted this wooden bird and a million ideas ran through my mind. I ended up painting and then covering it with a bunch of octagons. I then added the wing with a small clothespin so that I could attach helium balloons. I didn't have any for the photos, but it turned out really sweet.

I painted a wooden basket that I found in a discount pile, added a cute border, and some Pebbles flowers that worked out perfectly for holding cutlery wrapped in napkins.
There are many more things that I want to create for the actual birthday party, but this gives me an idea of what looks great.

I think the kids will love these little bird houses filled with jellybeans!!!

These cups were the perfect color to use for holding snacks and for drinks!

This cupcake didn't turn out exactly right. I want them to look like mini birds nests.
They will turn out better for the actual birthday!!!!
I adore how this sweet birdie turned out!! It was a lot of work but so worth the outcome.

I hope you enjoy and find inspiration in my creations.  When the birthday rolls around I will post everything else I make for the party. This is just a sneak peek!!!!!!

Oh my gosh!!! I recently bought this brilliant scrap booking tote from Neatnix. It is one of the best and useful things that I have purchased for scrapbooking. And I can't believe how much it holds!! If you are looking for something to hold everything from adhesive to scissore and everything in between you can't go wrong with this choice!!!

And apparently Mr. O'Malley agrees!!!  I was cleaning it out today and when I went to grab something I came back to him all curled up and comfy. He looked so darn cute!!!!  He wasn't impressed when I removed him!!!
Isn't he the sweetest????
