Welcome to Fall Ya'll and the Beautiful Golden Days of Autumn!!!!

It's the last Monday of September and we could not let it pass by without a treat for our followers.  The Paper Girls have put together an amazing blog hop with a ton of inspiration.  Also, The Paper Girls would like to introduce some new designers they have added to their team.  And I am honoured to be one of the newbies!!!  When asked to join, I didn't even wait a second to answer......I love their blog, their challenges and the best scrappy friends a girl could ever have!!!!  So I hope you join in and hop along.....you will find many beautiful projects that are "Fall Decor" themed!!

Here is my project!!

I am not the best at doing projects and getting all messy, but I have always wanted to do a canvas.  I have had 8 of them sitting my closet for 6 months and done nothing with them!!!  So, one evening at midnight I decided to confront my fear.  I found a piece of paper that had all of the colours I wanted, sanded the edges and glued it down with Mod Podge.  Then I covered the top with Mod Podge to seal it.  After it was dry I just started playing with paints and inks and stamps and stencils and rub-ons. Then I added the photo and twine and embellishments until it was just the way I wanted it!!  It will be a perfect house warming gift for my son-in-law and my daughter when they move into their new home they are building!!

It's a New Day!!!!!

Wow......I can't believe it has been so long since I last did a blog post!!!!!!  The last 6 months of my life have been so incredibly hectic and full of twists and turns.  There are days when I just really want to crawl in a hole......and days of complete joy!!  Without my amazing kids in my life, my sweet loving beautiful 2 granddaughters and some pretty special friends, I think I would be crawling in that hole daily.

My other issue of late has been that I had TOTALLY lost my creative mojo :(  I am lucky enough to be surrounded by tons of new and beautiful scrapbook supplies and the harder I tried to create......the less imagination I could find.  The photo that I finally used to created today has been sitting on my desk for about 5 months!!!!!!  I was truly beginning to think my scrapbooking days were over.....for good!!!!

But today I felt a teeny little spark......just a teeny one.  I grabbed the latest Scrapbook Steals sketch......and just did something without really thinking about it.  Definitely not a favourite layout.......but a start in the right direction.  Thank heavens for Scrapbook Steals and their weekly sketches.  If you are ever in a rut and need some inspiration they are the BEST place to go.

So this is this weeks MWM  Aquamarine #9

And this is my take on the sketch

After I was finished I was a little worried that I had strayed a bit from the sketch........but it is your inspiration that counts.  And if not for that beautiful sketch I would still be starring at that picture on my desk for another 6 months :)

Here are a few close up pictures.

Scrapbook Steals Monday Craft Madness

Wow....I am so happy to be back here at Scrapbook Steals to share some of my scrappy creations.  When I opened up my package of goodies I was thrilled to find that I would be working with
Up here in Canada we have some pretty long, cold, and gloomy winters!  This gorgeous collection is just what I needed to beat the winter blues. The colours are simply...... pure sunshine!!!  It is also so versatile, and could be used for many different themes!!

For my first project I decided to make this little 'Dates to Remember' mini book. It's the perfect size to carry around so while out shopping, it's quick and easy to check out who you need to shop for!!

My next creation is a layout of my darling granddaughter Blake.  A few weeks ago I spotted this amazing layout on Pinterest and knew it was the perfect inspiration for the photo I wanted to use, and the title I wanted to use.  I have always wanted to 'doodle' on a layout but could never quite get it right!!!  But I decided to jump in and give it a try.  I am super pleased with the way it turned out.  I also used a new found scrapbooking love....Kiwi Lane Designer Templates!!! So much fun!!!

check out Scrapbook Steals Monday Craft Madness for a full look at my layout!!!!

Because the colours in this collection are so rich and cheerful I wanted to use them to brighten up my scrapbooking space. I like to keep a 'catch all'  bin on my desk to throw the supplies I am using in, until I am finished a project. So this clear little bin I had was transformed into a little piece of art.  I also couldn't resist decorating a few jars to match for pens, buttons etc.

Lastly, I made this sweet little card.  For the Record 2 comes with stunning Element Stickers and Letters, Chipboard Accents, Layered Chipboard, and Decorative Brads.  They make creating cards super easy and fun fun fun!!!!!

Thank you Kerys and Scrapbook Steals for the opportunity to share my projects with you.  Scrapbook Steals is like a second home for me <3

Polaroid Fun with Practical Scrappers!!!!

Today I want to share with you a layout I created for Practical Scrappers!!!
Our project theme was Polaroids!!!  So many ideas popped into my head.......I love the Polaroid trend!!
There are so many ways you can incorporate polaroids into scrapbooking.
Not only can you print your photos in polaroid form, but many paper companies have pre made polaroid frames included in their collections.

pinkpaislee makes these amazing polaroid frames that have words or sayings on them.
I chose 2 frames that were perfect for my layout.

I love, love, love the way this layout turned out!!!
