Happy Halloween and October

What fun I had creating this super fun Pumpkin Layout!!!!  And it was created for a very special reason.  I am back as a designer with the Paper Girls Challenge Blog!!!!  This group of amazing talented girls is so special to me.  I was lucky enough to meet them through an online scrapbooking site and I love them all dearly.  And I am super excited to be back creating with this incredible group.  Check them out when you can, you will find a ton of talent, challenges, and inspiration.  This last challenge was call Pumpkin Spice.  At the risk of being sent  packing I must admit the I have never really gotten into the Pumpkin Spice rage.  So I wasn't sure what to create.  But then I got to thinking that my granddaughters bring lots of spunk and spice into my life!!!!  So I figured I should create a layout that included one of them.  And this picture of my sweet Taylor was just perfect.  Her sister Blake was The Little Mermaid so she became the most adorable Sebastian that I have ever seen!!!!

Since moving to a smaller home, I have decided that before I can buy any new paper I have to start using up a lot of my large hoard.  So I went searching for the perfect collection to use with this picture.  And this Bella Blvd. Hello Autumn Collection was just perfect.  I love all the bright colours and the addition of some blue's as well.

The pumpkin and leaves are from Silhouette. I cut a pumpkin in a deep orange sheet of Bazzill cardstock and a cream colour.  I then painted the cream one with watercolours, and layered them on my back round paper.   So much fun!!!!!   I also used the watercolours to splatter some of the paint on the background.

I just love this layout!!!  Fall is my favourite season and the colours on this layout turned out beautifully!!!!  I added a doilie, and some leaves and flowers I fussy cut from one of the patterned papers.  And then 2 flair buttons from Doodlebug with a little bit of twine behind them.

Here are a few close up photo's.

The dimension from those gorgeous leaves is so pretty.

Thanks for stopping in and taking a look.

Wild Whispers Inc and CATS CATS CATS

I'm not sure what is going on with me of late but every week there seems to be another disaster in my life LOL!!!   Things were finally settling down after my move, when I had a serious encounter with a cat in my new neighbourhood!!!  My cats and I were minding our own business when this grey kitty decided to jump onto my screen patio door!!!  He shocked the pants off me and my cats!!!  There he was hanging and caught on my screen.  I slowly opened the door, trying to be reassuring and kind, and gave him a little scratch behind the ear. He rubbed against my hand all calm, so I held him and unlocked his claws.  Seconds later my smart ass kitty Atlas decided to hiss at him, sending him into a psycho attack tiger!!!!  Before I knew it he was clamped to my right hand.......teeth sunk into my thumb and claws wrapped around my arm digging in with all of his strength!!  It happened so fast I was in total shock.  I shook to release him, and he thankfully took off running.  He was no worse for wear, but I was left with horrible injuries.  Looking on google I learned that cat bites can be incredibly dangerous.  So off to the hospital I went.  After IV antibiotics, and some pain meds I thought I was in the clear.  No Such luck. A few days later it got worse and after seeing my doctor I was sent back to the ER.  A week later, and days and days of IV antibiotics and meds for swelling I can finally feel my hand again LOL!!!!

Yup that's my ugly paw 2 days ago.  Look out for killer attack cats......they can do some nasty damage!!!!

Somewhere in the past week I totally lost a day and thought today was the last day of September!!  Wow all these days back and forth to the ER have caused havoc!!!!

Anyways what I wanted to share with you all today is a layout I created using products from an amazing Canadian company that I discovered while at the Canadian Scrapbook Carnival. Who could not fall in love with these gorgeous products!!!!  And best of all they really cater to the Canadian within.  Lots of whimsical outdoor woodsy themed products.  So I picked up a few Collections and products to create with.

OMG I can't get enough of these beauties!!!!!!  The wood veneer and the stamp set are just to die for!!!  And the quality of their products are top notch.  I can't say enough about how wonderful they are.  So go check them out.......you will NOT be disappointed!!!!

This is the first layout that I have created with Wild Whisper products.

This picture collage of my granddaughters on a scavenger hunt were perfect for this collection.
I did a lot of fussy cutting, including the word ADVENTURE!!!

I can't wait to share more creations using Wild Whisper Designs
Thanks for dropping by!!!

Happy October Friends!!!!!!

Oh my goodness what a hectic life I have led in the past few months!!!!   I don't even know where to start explaining all the changes.   After living in my home for the past 29 years, it was finally time to move and get my new life started.   It was difficult and I really thought that I would have a hard time making this move.  But by the time everything was said and done I was actually more relieved than sad.  I am in my new home now, and even though it is probably not my forever home, I feel settled and comfortable.  As many of us crafters know, thinking about packing and moving an entire craft room strikes fear and terror in our hearts LOL. I moved to a much smaller home and no longer have my large beautiful studio.  But all is well and I still have a beautiful space to create.

Right after my move I attended the Great Canadian Scrapbook Carnival.  I look forward to this amazing event every year and this year I took my oldest granddaughter Blake as a gift for her birthday.  She LOVED it!!!!!  And I look forward to taking her again next year.

The cutest scrappers at the crop!!!
Blake and Kaja

I also managed to get my creative juices flowing and created a few layouts!!!! Yeah!!!!

This if the first layout I created. I love this photo so much!!! My middle granddaughter Taylor and my niece Denae's sweet little guy Gabe were enjoying some bonding time at a family reunion a few years ago!!

Lots of mixed media going on in this layout.  Also a Silhouette cut file that I backed with paper. With the move I don't have my supply lists available, but I will share as soon as I find them <3

This layout came about after I purchased some Dina Wakely Acrylic Paint (colours : Turquoise, Magenta, and Lime) at the crop.
I decided to just play around with it on some textured white cardstock. The next morning, I punched out a bunch of circles, and this layout then fell together pretty darn fast!!!!
The only thing I added after that was a Doilie from Doodlebug, Enamel Dots, a couple chipboard pieces, a couple tiny butterfly from Doodlebug, and an Acrylic Title from Bella Blvd.
This turned out to be such a fun layout. I just LOVE it!!!!!

Thanks Creative Scrapbooker for another amazing Carnival!!!! I am already looking forward to next year

Stuck Sketches and SISTERS

Stuck Sketches have been a life saver for me lately for inspiration.
My life has been pretty darn chaotic and stressful and I have been using art and yoga as my stress relief.  I have also been on a scrapbooking spending freeze for quite some time.  My Art Studio is filled to the brim and now that I am having to move, and probably not going to have nearly as large a space to create in......adding to my large stock of product was not a good choice.  So, all of my
creations, at least until I move, will be with older product.  Which is tough because there is so much amazing new stuff out there enticing me every day!!!!!

This is the Sketch I used today.
Stuck Sketches July 1, 2017 Sketch

I Love this sketch so much!!!  And I had so many ideas runny through my mind.
I have always wanted to cut out letters on my Silhouette and back them with patterned paper.  I have seen this done by many amazing scrapbookers, and it looks so beautiful!!! So I gave it a try.  I think it turned out pretty good for my first time!!!!!

So this is my creation!!!!!

These precious little girls are my two oldest granddaughters Taylor and Blake. Two of the loves of my life.  And the pictures were taken by their Mom Kelsie Kelly who is a incredible lifestyle Photographer.  I am incredibly blessed to have such gorgeous pictures to scrap!!!!
I LOVE how this layout turned out. And I really LOVE the large lettering.  I  will certainly we using this technique again!!!  The only thing I don't like is the black smudge I accidentally made in the upper left hand corner my mistake.  But mistakes are part of life, so no biggie.

Catch of the Day

I can't believe it has been over a year since I have posted ANYTHING!!!!
So many changes in my life......and sadly I just didn't feel much like creating.
In the next few months I will be selling and leaving my home.  It will be a difficult change because I have lived and raised my family here since 1990.
But I am ready for new adventures and looking forward to all that it brings into my life!!!

While sorting and packing and deciding what to keep, I decided that I really had to go through the many boxes of photos.  Most of my scrapbooking has consisted of photos of my granddaughter, pets, and recent photos.  When my kids were younger there was no digital photos.  You just took a picture and hoped that when you got them back that it turned out OK.  Because of that you ended up with a ton of not so great photos.  And you just hated to throw any of them out.  But now that I will be moving to a smaller home it was time to ditch the crappy pictures and organize or scrapbook the others.

So here is one of these photos.  I decided to use Stuck Sketches June 15, 2017 #2 Sketch.

I think this is the first time I have used a sketch from Stuck Sketches. Not sure why because I really love their sketches.  And I am looking forward to use them more often.

I changed the sketch up a little because in the photo my daughter is holding a fish.  So I decided to use outdoorsy element.  It took me awhile to get the creative juices flowing, but I really love how this turned out.

It sure feels good to sit and create!!!! THANK YOU
Stuck Sketches
for inspiring me!!!
